Wow, Judy! I would love to see a picture of those onions! I think you will enjoy the fruits of freezing them. It’s so handy to pull out a small bag of frozen onions for quick frying or adding flavor to recipes throughout the year. Good luck!

I am going to try freezing the white with some green on the stock. Will not freeze the green tops as they are huge and made it through the mild Ohio winter. The tops were about 2-1/2 feet tall and wide tops. The white is a good size so I will have many onions to freeze. I have used several in my cooking in the last couple of weeks and they were very sweet. If this works I will plant in the fall again this year. Thank you for your directions.
